The Old Chainyard in Castle Street, Coseley, is still open following the refusal of a planning application to convert it to a supermarket.

Asda is believed to be preparing to appeal against the refusal.

Licensee Amanda Fisher, who has a lease with Red Oak Taverns to August 2026 is urging real ale drinkers to continue to support the pub.

She has pledged to keep the Old Chainyard open as long as she can.

She is still putting on two real ales on hand pump - usually Salopian, Titanic, Oakham and Enville beers.
