The first ales to be brewed at the new Dark Rock Brewery have gone on sale in bottles.

Dark Rock Brewing in Zoar Street, Lower Gornal, is selling them from its shop at £2.50 a 330ml bottle

Altitude is a 5.2 per cent New Zealand pale ale and Summit is a 3.4 per cent session IPA.

The shop is also now selling bottled beers from Bewdley, Black Country Ales, Holden's and Ludlow breweries as well as bottled beers brewed using its own brewing kits.

The Dark Rock Brewery taproom off Zoar Street is also expected to open soon.

Dark Rock is also holding a Great British Brew Off competition which is to be judged in the brewery on September 12.

Entries are open until September 9 with three categories - light, amber and dark.

Home brewed beers must only use British hops and malts with the entry fee £10.

There is a prize package worth £140 for each category.
