Predominantly a food pub, this historic 16th century Grade II* listed building has been refurbished and re-named, previously The Whittington. The older part has many smaller rooms, nooks and crannies as oak beams and archways lead to the main bar area and restaurant, to the left. Small snugs, ancient floors, timber framing and passageways give the pub its old world feel. The restaurant is often busy, especially at weekends, and meals may be enjoyed in the old parts of the building as well. Reservation is recommended. The single cask ale is usually Wainwright and may occasionally change to another beer for a few days, for example Pedigree. Outside the restaurant there are shaded tables used for drinks and smoking. Private functions can be arranged, and there is also a tee-pee that can be booked. The large car park has ample spaces and two electric vehicle charging spaces across the far side.
