Britannia Pub & BreweryRowley Village
Following a high-spec refurbishment, this multi-roomed pub reopened in September 2017 offering a welcome combination of 9 real ales, bottled craft beer, 5 real ciders, and hearty food. The bay windows in the shabby chic lounge offer natural lighting and there are multiple real fires throughout the building. The lounge, bar, and conservatory are all spacious and each room has a unique feel.
Dean Cartwright, from the Pig Iron Brewing Company of Brierley Hill, is brewing under the pseudonym of Britt Brewery in a satellite unit at the rear. Both Pig Iron and Britt Brewery cask ales are always available and accompanied by beers from Fixed Wheel, Wye Valley, Fownes, and others. The Britt Brewery ale is usually Brew Brittania but this might rotate to include, for example, Britt Pop.
A Loyalty Scheme is in operation whereby one free pint can be redeemed if 8 pints of the house beers are bought. For lovers of bottled craft beer, you may be tempted by the Brewdog Punk IPA and Dead Pony Juice priced at £3.50 and £3.00 respectively. All hot meals are less than £7 and feature rather unusual pies and sausages as well as traditional faggots and burgers. There is live music in the conservatory at the rear on Saturday evenings which is advertised in advance on the pub's Facebook page.
